Re-invent Your Life and Career!
An intensive four and one half day retreat combining a rich group experience with individual attention to find a vision for your life and work.
Purpose
The Retreat’s focus is renewal. It is designed to help you gain a new perspective, uncover what gives your life purpose, unblock what gets you stuck, and create a clear, compelling vision for the future. Allowing yourself the time away to give complete attention to your career and life questions produces more clarity, action and results than months of individual counseling…and at less expense. The Retreat includes over 50 hours of professional coaching in small group meetings (a maximum of 6 to 12 participants), personal consultations, and an optional follow-up group session.

- If you learn best by taking yourself out of your day-to-day routine to thoroughly explore big questions like “Who am I” and “Where am I going?”

- To break old patterns and make new choices that fit you.
- To unify seemingly conflicting needs.
- To communicate your situation to friends, family and potential employers.
- To create an enthusiastic life/work vision for your future.
Retreat Outline
Each Retreat includes a core of activities similar to LifeWork Renewal, Passion Search, and Getting Unstuck. Adapted to the needs of the participants, these activities give structure to the learning process. Group sharing and support is a key element of The Retreat experience. In addition to the structured activities, there is time for individual reflection in a beautiful, natural setting.
Participants
Our participants come from a variety of professions. They encompass a broad range of ages. They are single, in committed relationships, engaged, married, separated or divorced. Often, participants are accompanied by their spouses or significant others who find that they get as much out of the Retreat as their partner! Here’s a comment from one spouse:
…the format for the workshop made it so I took a journey myself. The exercises we went through started me thinking about my own career and the use I make of my time. My own journey caused my husband surprises just as his journey surprised me. What was surprising was how much alike our feelings were. It has given us something to talk about and it has helped me understand where he is coming from.
Time Schedule
Each Retreat begins on the first day at 1:00 PM and runs until about 3:30 PM on the final day. The schedule for The Retreat includes full group and small coaching groups, as well as couple and individual time. There is some unstructured free time including opportunities for enjoying the outdoors and one-on-one consultations with one of the facilitators.
In general, the sessions begin after breakfast at 9:00 AM and continue until early afternoon when we break for lunch. There is some free time available after which we reorganize back into groups until dinner. We conclude the day with a 2-hour full group session lasting until about 9:30 PM.
Accomodations
The Seattle retreat is held at the Talaris World Campus Lodge on 18 peaceful acres of wooded grounds, landscaped lawns and wildlife ponds. The campus is in the Laurelhurst neighborhood northeast of the University of Washington. There is the popular Burke-Gilman bike trail nearby and a wildlife refuge within easy walking distance.
